Before becoming a full-time writer, Duncan spent over 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Senior Army Aviator with numerous honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medals, and the Expert Infantryman Badge. His second career as a Director of Continuous Process Improvement at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) earned him the Commander’s Innovation Award twice. He also served as a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and taught aviation safety, accident investigation, and rotorcraft operations at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Aviation History

An avid lifelong learner, Duncan holds a B.S. and M.S. from Embry-Riddle and completed 51 Ph.D. credits in System Safety. His passion for education and aviation is reflected in every page he writes, whether chronicling the legacy of Cold War aircraft or teaching children the importance of responsibility and kindness.

Today, Clemons lives in Corvallis, Oregon, where he continues to write, teach, and volunteer at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. His mission is simple: to inspire, educate, and uplift—one story at a time.
