Theme: Hands-on learning
Grandpa School Lesson: “Learning is best when you can feel it.”
Introduction: Be a Pilot Scientist
Flying isn’t just something you watch — it’s something you can feel!
With this game, you’ll use your body to experience the four forces that keep an airplane in the air.
Flight Facts
Remember the four forces: Lift, Thrust, Drag, Gravity.
Each one pulls or pushes the airplane in a different direction.
In flight, they must stay balanced — like a see-saw in the sky!
Try It Yourself!
Activity: “The Human Airplane Game”
You’ll need: open space and friends or family.
- Lift: Spread your arms like wings and flap gently — that’s lift!
- Thrust: Run forward and shout “Zoom!” — you’re creating thrust.
- Drag: Have someone gently hold your shoulders — that’s air resistance.
- Gravity: Jump up and land softly — gravity pulls you back down.
Bonus: Use a fan to feel “wind” on your wings!
Glossary
- Force: A push or pull on something.
- Balance: Keeping equal weight or power on all sides.
- Resistance: A force that slows motion.
- Gravity: The Earth’s invisible pull.

Grandpa School Wisdom
Grandpa says, “When you play and learn at the same time, your mind takes off faster than any airplane.”
Even the smartest pilots never stop playing with ideas — and that’s how they keep learning to fly.
